Bowman Geothermal Energy
Geothermal power involves using much higher temperature heat from hot springs or wells much deeper into the earth to generate electric power. Unlike GeoExchange, current Geothermal power technology requires an existing geothermal resource where natural geologic forces have brought an unusual amount of hot liquids into permeable formations relatively near the Earth's crust.
Geothermal Energy Experience
Our Geothermal Energy experience includes planning and conducting geological evaluations of geothermal prospects throughout the Western US and overseas. Investigations employed analysis of drilling programs and a wide variety of geological, geophysical, geochemical, and remote sensing techniques.
Conducted economic evaluations of geothermal power prospects in Indonesia and South America. Ranked and handicapped potential projects, provided cost projections for exploration and project development. Integrated geology and regional power generation, consumption, growth factors, and distribution capabilities.
Geothermal Energy Services
- Conducted and supervised geothermal exploration programs in Oregon, Utah, Nevada, and the Valles Caldera in Mexico. Programs involved geochemical, temperature gradient, and geophysical surveys.
- Conducted field assessments of geothermal prospects in the Andes from Santiago south to Puerto Montt.
- Supervised Science and Technology research staff and actively participated in various research projects conducted over an eight-year period. Projects resulted in new techniques and methodolgies which greatly enhanced our ability to assess geothermal potential of prospects.
- Conducted technical training seminars including a seminar for CalEnergy geologists and engineers with the China Lake geothermal project as well as presenting geochemistry seminar in the Philippines, covering geochemical and hydrologic responses of geothermal systems to production.
- Developed database for CalEnergy’s Coso (China Lake) Project: for geochemical data and analysis; for Coso wellfield production data; and for Coso Power Plant generation data.
